Yale Postdoc Community Forum

  • Do you have ideas for how to make our postdoc community better and stronger?

  • Want to brainstorm about how Yale could do more to attract and retain a more diverse community at the postdoc and faculty levels?

  • Would you like the chance to communicate directly with some of the Yale administration about the needs of the postdoc community?

Join the Yale Postdoctoral Association as we celebrate National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week and discuss ways in which the postdoc community can be improved!

September 19th, 12pm-1:30pm | Harkness Auditorium | Lunch Provided!

What is this forum?

This is a town hall meeting  to bring together university administrators and YOU!

What are the goals of the forum?

  • Communicate our needs to each other and to senior university administrators
  • Learn about university resources for postdocs
  • Brainstorm practical ways to increase the quality of postdoc life at Yale.
  • Celebrate National Postdoc Appreciation Week!

Why a forum?

Often times it feels like there is relatively little institutional structure to support postdoctoral researchers. Yet, the postdoc years mark the crucial junction in our careers and lives when big decisions are made. As a reflection of the challenges our community faces professionally and personally, it is not surprising that the postdoc stage is when many begin to leave academia for other careers. We want to provide an opportunity for you to communicate with Yale administrators about how you feel and for us to brainstorm solutions to what our community sees as issues.
