Kristen Murfin

Role: Professional Development Subcommittee Coordinator

Biography:

Kristen Murfin is second year postdoc in the laboratory of Erol Fikrig in the Section of Infectious Diseases at Yale School of Medicine. Her research focuses on defining tick-host-pathogen interactions for development of therapeutics against tick-borne infectious diseases, such as Lyme disease and anaplasmosis.

 
Kristen completed her PhD in Microbiology at the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2015, where she studied the impact of bacterial strain variation on the coevolution and stability of mutually beneficial symbiotic associations. As a coordinator of the professional development subcommittee, Kristen is interested in bringing diverse career development opportunities to the Yale postdoctoral community.
