Career Network for student Scientists and Postdocs at Yale (CNSPY) is organizing their quarterly mixer entitled “From Bench to Office: How can you prepare yourself for the jobs beyond the lab” with our very own Arian Abdulla on Thursday, August 13th at 6:30pm.

CNSPY has invited four guests to the quarterly mixer to talk about their experiences in career development beyond the lab. If you’re a Ph.D student or postdoc interested in pursuing diverse career options, come join us at the coming mixer.

  • Dr. Ellie Schmelzer, an associate director in the Office of Career Strategy. She was a postdoc at Yale Department of Physics. Now she focuses on advising graduate students and post-docs in GSAS about careers paths.
  • Dr. Kaury Kucera, an associate director in the Yale Center for Teaching and Learning. She was a post-doc at Yale Department of Pharmacology. In this recent new job, she helps grad students and postdocs develop their own teaching skills.
  • Tenaya Vallery, the president of CNSPY and a graduate student at Yale. She recently attended ‘The Whole Scientist’ course at JAX and will share her insight from attending the course and her experience as the CNSPY President.
  • Dr. Arian Abdulla, a postdoctoral associate at Yale University. He was one of the attendees of the workshop titled “Managing Science in the Biotech Industry: An Intensive Course for Students and Postdocs.” He will be happy to share his experiences at the workshop and answer any questions.
