Professional Development
What do we do?
The Professional Development Committee organizes career events, seminars, and facilitates activities in collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning, Office of Career Strategy, and Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
Some of the annual events we organize include:
- Career Cafes where we invite people at different career levels in industry and/or academia and discuss practical professional paths and opportunities for postdocs
- Info sessions on different services and offices around Yale that can help get the most out of your postdoc training and future job searches
- Seminars and workshops covering topics such as communication skills, entrepreneurship, grant applications and the non-academic job search
- Pint of Postdoc to grab your pint and listen to your peer postdocs present their exciting projects
How you can get involved
We are always looking for help. If you want to be involved in the organization of these kinds of events, feel free to email our two Professional Development Subcommittee Coordinators.
If you are looking to get connected to Yale alumni, you can log into the Yale Career Network system [link].
