Alexander Abrams

Biography: 

Alexander Abrams is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Genetics where he conducts research in the laboratory of Dr. Marc Hammarlund. His research goal is to use single-cell type transcriptomic approaches in order to compare the ageing process and intrinsic regeneration potential in different subtypes of neurons. He obtained his Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Miami, where he discovered and characterized human hereditary neurodegenerative disease genes.

He is passionate about learning biology through trying new projects in both the lab and at home. Where his most recent hobbies include gardening and maple sugaring.

Alex joined the treasury committee in order to advocate for the needs of the Postdoc community and to enrich their quality of life for the time they spend at Yale.
