Anne Wyllie

Role: Professional Development Committee Member and Liaison for Office of Career Strategy.

Biography: Anne Wyllie is a first-year postdoc in the laboratory of Dr. Weinberger in the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at the Yale School of Public Health.

Anne completed her PhD at the UMC Utrecht in the Netherlands in Medical Microbiology. Her PhD thesis focused on improving the detection of important upper respiratory tract commensal and potential human pathogen, Streptococcus pneumoniae, in all age groups. Now utilising her extensive knowledge on pneumococcal carriage, here at Yale she is now using quantitative models to forecast incidence pneumococcal disease to help guide serotype selection for novel pneumococcal vaccination strategies.

Having been the co-chair of the social committee at the UMC Utrecht for 5 years, she enthusiastically joined the YPA immediately following her arrival at Yale, knowing the importance of a strong and supportive network of peers.
