Biography:

Gita joined Yale University as a postdoctoral associate in September 2019. At Yale,her work focuses on system genetics of polysubstance abuse, cardiac amyloidosis, and  intersection between aging and neuropsychiatric traits.

Gita completed her doctoral studies at University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC), Fort Worth, Texas. She was awarded with Dean’s Scholarly Excellence and was NIH-T32 Neurobiology of Aging predoctoral fellow.   She received full scholarship to attend the 23rd Statistical Genetics Summer Institute at University of Washington, Seattle. For her doctoral work she studied genetics of  comorbid diseases with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was also the President of the International Student Association, served with Graduate Student Association, and organized “Alumni series for PhD students” at UNTHSC.

When Gita is not working, she is doing graphic design, hiking in the East Rock park, and going to the museum.
