Jordon White

Role: Title IX Liaison

Jordon is a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Arie Kaffmans’s lab in the Department of Psychiatry studying how early life experiences shape brain development with a specific interest in how biological sex may moderate these processes-neccessitating sex-specific interventions. Jordon completed her PhD in the lab of Dr. Gary Boehm at Texas Christian Universty, wher she studied how inflammation, at different points across the lifespan, impacts the development and severity of Alzheimer’s-like pathologies and cognitive dysfunction.

When not in the lab, Jordon is an advocate for the creation and maintenance of a working/learning/teaching environment that is free  from discrimination on the basis of sex and gender. As such, Jordon serves on the University-Wide Committee on Sexual Misconduct where she participates in Yale’s formal inquiry process into cases of misconduct. In her current role with the YPA, Jordon hopes to help postdocs to understand their role in maintaining a healthy lab culture and create programming for postdocs that enhances both their confindence and effectiveness in their ability to alter the climate in which they work. Postdocs are the future leaders of the scientific community, and Jordon is committed to helping them become the best leaders and advocates for their students and trainees they can be.
