Ludmila Peres Diaz

Biography:

Ludmila Peres Diaz is a postdoctoral associate in the laboratory of Dr. Gallagher (Yale School of Medicine, Pediatric Department). Ludmila’s current research aims to better understand blood diseases’ development by investigating genetic variations in genes associated with the red cells’ differentiation, maintenance, and physiology.

Ludmila completed her Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Physiology at Buenos Aires University, Argentina, in 2016, studying the cardiac TRH’s participation in the development of hypertrophy and fibrosis, and hypertension in different in vivo and in vitro models.

She is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to learn exciting things, not only related to research but also related to culture and nature. When she is not at the lab, Ludmila loves to read, dance, and spend time with family and friends. She also enjoys outdoor sport, travel, and good food. Ludmila is looking forward to meeting fellow postdocs through the YPA and learn new ways to connect and network.
