Oksana Goroshchuk

Role: Professional Development Committee Member

Oksana Goroshchuk is a postdoctoral associate in the laboratory of Prof.Chris Cotsapas at the Department of Neurology, Yale School of Medicine. With a help of genetics, she aims to understand the role of sex hormones as a risk factor in the development of autoimmune diseases. 

Oksana obtained her medical degree in the National Bogomolets Medical University in Ukraine in 2012 and specialized in General Practice - Family Medicine in 2016. 

She completed her PhD in Medicine at Karolinska Institutet (KI) in Sweden in 2020, where she focused on testing siRNA-based drugs and small molecule inhibitors for the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia in children. At KI she was a member of the Doctoral Student Association and worked on the questions related to the Swedish Migration Office. She was an active member of the KI Career Service blog and wrote about PhD life in Sweden. 

In her free time, Oksana writes a blog and fiction stories. She loves travelling, hiking, jogging and visiting her family and friends.
