Nupur Nagarkatti

Role: Communications Coordinator

Biography:

Nupur is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Yale Department of surgery working under the mentorship of Dr. Sajid Khan in the field of surgical oncology. Her work involves generating transcriptional and metabolomics data to examine differences in colorectal cancer based on sex, race/ethnicity, tumor sidedness and metastasis.
Nupur completed her medical school in India in 2019. During her time there, she worked as a board of Director in the Rotaract Club of the Caduceus, one of Asia’s biggest healthcare non profit organisations, and has helped organise more than 200 community outreach camps. She wishes to combine her love for surgery and global health and be a part of initiatives to take healthcare where it is needed the most. Social entrepreneurship, global health and devising solutions for healthcare challenges in resource poor settings define her professional interests.

Outside of work, travelling is her biggest passion. Experiencing new cultures, landscapes, cuisines and meeting people from diverse backgrounds has always been stimulating for her. In her spare time she enjoys gaining deeper insights into the field of neuroscience, outdoor activities, reading, listening to podcasts and watching movies.
