Roozbeh Yousefzadeh

 

Roozbeh is a Postdoc currently working at the interface of Computer Science and Medicine. His research focus has been on the mathematics of deep learning which he also uses for specific applications like identifying biomarkers. He also works on accountability and transparency issues in applications of Artificial Intelligence. He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from University of Maryland, College Park.

For two years during his PhD, he represented the CS department in the university-wide Graduate Student Government, served in its rules committee and elections committee, and supported the campaign for legalizing collective bargaining rights for graduate employees in the state of Maryland. He also served as the treasurer for a student organization. He likes reading books about social sciences and humanities.
