Spook-takular science

Have you ever tried to explain your science to a 14-year old? Do you ever wonder what high school students think about scientists? We organized Spook-takular Science to connect Yale postdocs with New Haven area public high school students. Six selected postdocs who had accepted the challenge to most effectively communicate their work to the audience presented in our inaugural 2020 Spook-takular Science event this Halloween and delivered 5 minute lightning talks to a group of high-school students. We hope to continue this series in the future. This event is a unique opportunity to learn how to get rid of science jargon when talking to non-science folks and to connect with your local community of future scientists.
