Srikar Gopinath

Biography:  
 
Srikar is a Postdoctoral Associate in the laboratory of Dr. Antonio Giraldez at the Department of Genetics. His research interest lies in understanding post-transcriptional gene regulation. In the Giraldez lab, Srikar develops massive parallel reporter assays to identify cis- and trans-regulatory features of RNA, and how mutations in these elements disrupt the regulatory code causing human diseases. Srikar obtained his Ph.D. from Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) in India, and joined Yale in 2021. He believes that a supportive peer environment and good mentorship can have tremendous impact in shaping one’s professional career. Srikar is excited to be a part of the community and is keen to contribute towards enriching the professional experiences of postdocs.
