Victor O. Oria

Biography:

Victor is a postdoctoral associate in Dr. Lucia Jilaveanu’s lab in the Department of Medical Oncology. His research focuses on understanding the mechanisms driving melanoma brain metastasis with an aim of developing new drug targets. He completed his PhD in the lab of Prof. Dr. Oliver Schilling at the University of Freiburg, Germany in 2018. His doctoral thesis investigated the role of two proteins (ADAM9 and ALDH1A1) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma tumor progression.

Victor enjoys a lot of social activities including 15s/7s Rugby, Football, Traveling, Partying, Fine-Whiskey Tasting, Photography, Canoeing, Writing, and Politics.
