I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Yale School of the Environment and coordinator of the Yale Postdoctoral Association (YPA) Advocacy Committee. In this role, I contribute to institution-wide policy initiatives that advance postdoctoral equity, well-being, and professional sustainability at Yale. Our current advocacy efforts focus on strengthening childcare support, advancing fair compensation and retirement structures, and developing stable mentorship and professional development frameworks for postdocs. My engagement in equity initiatives extends to my graduate training, where I supported initiatives at the University of Wisconsin-Madison through graduate equity workshops and mentoring efforts that addressed access, inclusion, and professional development for graduate students. In my current role, I collaborate closely with YPA leadership and the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs to elevate postdoc needs into formal policy proposals and to promote a more inclusive, supportive academic environment for early-career scholars.
