Devika is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Holley lab at the Department of Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology. She earned her Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Merced, where her research in soft matter physics revealed intriguing parallels with biological systems. This inspired her transition into developmental biology, where she now explores how biological systems harness physical principles to build structure. In the Holley lab, she is developing models to understand the mechanisms underlying the emergence of embryonic body curvature. Her work sits at the interface of physics and developmental biology, reflecting her interdisciplinary training and interests.
Beyond the lab, Devika is an enthusiastic solo traveler who has explored 13 countries and speaks four languages. She’s always happy to share travel tips and recommendations with fellow adventurers!
