Dr. Faihaa Dafalla is a physician and public health specialist with over a decade of experience in health systems strengthening, policy development, and international health. She holds a Clinical Doctorate in Community Medicine, an MSc in Public and Tropical Health, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Management, Planning, and Policy.

Prior to joining Yale, Dr. Dafalla served as Director of Health Planning at Sudan’s Federal Ministry of Health, where she led national health reform efforts and collaborated with global partners including WHO, UNICEF, and the World Bank.

She has also served as a national consultant with WHO and chaired the Steering Committee of the Global Academy for SRHR at Lund University.  Her work has focused on health governance, reform and universal health coverage; primary health care; and post-conflict recovery.

At Yale, Dr. Dafalla continues to advance her commitment to health equity and systems resilience through research and collaboration.
