Fatima is a Postdoctoral Associate in the lab of Dr. Sorin Fedeles/ Prof. Stefan Somlo in the Section of Nephrology at Yale School of Medicine. Her research focuses on endoplasmic reticulum stress and unfolded protein response pathways in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). She earned her PhD in Molecular Medicine from Hannover medical school (MHH) in Germany, studying how fibrocystin C-terminal domain affects cyst signaling in autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD).
By joining the YPA Mentorship Committee, Fatima aims to strengthen mentor training and resources for Yale postdocs, empowering them to become confident, skilled mentors for the next generation.
