Kanika is an Associate Research Scientist in the lab of Dr. John Hwa at the Yale Cardiovascular Research Centre, School of Medicine. Her research is focused on the role of platelets across the spectrum of human diseases including cardiovascular and neurodegenerative disorders. She has been fascinated by the interplay of the protein synthesis, folding and degradation pathways and delving into the complexities of proteostasis in different tissues and cells has been her passion. Prior to joining Yale as a postdoctoral associate, Kanika completed her PhD and Masters in Life Sciences from New Delhi, India. Beyond her research pursuits, Kanika’s interests extend to an avid engagement with literature and dance, coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and disciplines. She finds immense joy in sharing insights and experiences through informal conversations and interviews.
