Laura Meissner

Laura Meissner

Coordinator
Mentorship Committee
Yale Postdoc Association

Laura is a Postdoctoral Associate in Prof. Allison Didychuk’s lab at the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. She investigates how herpesviruses package their DNA into capsids using fluorescence microscopy. In her PhD in the laboratory of Prof. Stefan Diez (TU Dresden) she unraveled the 3D motion of motor proteins. Laura values that mentoring fosters professional development and growth for both mentors and mentees. Her aim is to improve the mentoring experience of postdocs at Yale and support postdocs in becoming great mentors themselves.
