Nicole Bertoletti is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Schlessinger lab in the Pharmacology department. She is an enthusiastic protein crystallographer with a strong interest in drug discovery. Her current research is focused on the structural characterization of receptor tyrosine kinases by cryo-EM and their validation ad target for cancer treatment. She received her MS in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Pisa (Italy) and obtained her Ph.D. in the drug design group of Prof. Klebe at the Philipps-University of Marburg (Germany).
Nicole is not only passionate about structural biology but also about creating an effective support system for all scientists to advance in their careers. She is serving since 2019 as a board member in the WISAY Postdoc/Faculty mentoring program, and, since 2020 as co-coordinator of the Professional Development Committee at the YPA.
