Tianyu Zhu is a Postdoctoral Associate in the laboratory of Dr. Jean-Ju Chung in the Department of Cellular & Molecular Physiology at Yale School of Medicine. His research focuses on understanding the molecular architecture and functional regulation of sperm ion channel complexes, particularly the CatSper calcium channel, which plays a central role in sperm motility and male fertility.
Tianyu received his PhD from State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Medicine, Nanjing Medical University, where he utilized gene editing, phospho-proteomics, super-resolution microscopy to study the mechanisms governing sperm flagella formation. Prior to joining Yale, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where his research focused on cilia biology and embryonic left-right patterning in zebrafish.
Outside the lab, Tianyu enjoys badminton, gym, exploring local cuisine, and spending time with friends. He has great enthusiasm about supporting the Yale Postdoc society.
