Xue is a postdoctoral associate in the Roel Verhaak Lab within the Department of Neurosurgery at the School of Medicine. Her research is focused on unraveling the replication machinery and evolution of extrachromosomal DNA (ecDNA) in glioblastoma, with the goal of identifying therapeutic targets to reduce ecDNA in cancer patients. She completed her Ph.D. at Peking University, where she studied the biogenesis mechanism of extracellular vesicles, with a focus on membrane lipid composition.
Outside the lab, Xue loves photography, especially styles inspired by Saul Leiter. Her work in microscopy imaging lets her create unique “portraits” of chromosomes and cells, blending science with an artistic touch. In her free time, she enjoys capturing moments through her camera, dancing tango, hiking, and exploring life!
