Yury grew up in the cold city of Moscow, Russia, where he developed an obsession with science. Later, Yury realized that he needed something warmer in his life, and he moved to Australia to do his PhD. Now, Yury is a postdoctoral scientist at Yale who is passionate about molecular machines in our body that monitor the environment and can generate a signal when something interesting is happening. Yury is based in Slav Bagriantsev and Elena Gracheva labs (https://campuspress.yale.edu/squirrel/).
When he is not working, you’ll find Yury climbing on the walls, wandering in art galleries, and snowboarding in the mountains of Georgia the country.
