BiographyAman is a Postdoctoral Associate in the lab of Dr. Andrew Goodman at the Microbial Sciences Institute. He studies the functions of trillions of microbial communities (microbiota) residing in the human gut. In the Goodman lab, his research focuses on understanding the effect of perturbations such as medical drugs or pathogens on the microbiota and the host. He aims to develop approaches to improve the effectiveness of modern medicine and help advance strategies towards personalized medicine.
Aman received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Then, he moved to Dallas to pursue his Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center before joining Yale in 2020. He believes that a supportive and diverse peer network combined with great mentors is essential to professional growth and development.
