Animesh Upadhyay

Biography:

Animesh Upadhyay is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Yale Cancer Center working under the guidance of Dr Gary Altwerger in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences. He works on patient cell lines with Uterine Cancer and Lynch syndrome with mismatch repair (MMR) mutations. His research focusses on different MMR mutations and the effect of anti-cancer drugs on these cell lines. He aims to pave the path for precision chemotherapy along with decreasing the side effect profile in women burdened with uterine cancer. Animesh received his MD (Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery) from Government Medical College, Maharashtra, India. He competed in the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), before joining Yale in 2021 and wishes to join Residency in the department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the US in 2023. He believes in the skill of mentoring and how efficient mentorship can help several other aspirants who would be in his shoes some time in their life.
