Anubha Seth

Role: Committee Member

Biography: Anubha is a postdoc in the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale University. Her interdisciplinary research background ranges from biotechnology, zoology, biochemistry, pharmacology and translational research.

In the early phases of her research, she was involved in scientific entrepreneurship projects.

Since then, she has been motivated to keep continuing research, at the University of Tübingen and Max Planck Institute of Development Biology, Germany, where while doing her Ph.D., she characterized the transmembrane domain of class IIIa adenylyl cyclase and developed a three-state model. This work led to her first postdoc at MPI, where she searched for ligands for these orphan receptors.

Following her transition from MPI to Yale, she chose to focus on understanding the role of conformational changes in serotonin transporter and characterized the effects of its novel inhibitors.

Her current interests lie in more translational aspects of diseases more specifically utilizing cell based and murine model to delve into the intricacies of chronic liver disease.

When she is not engaged in work, she enjoys spending time with friends, music traveling, watching sports, photography and organizing events.
