Event description:

Fall is coming and it is a beautiful time to go out in the nature, observe the foliage and see New Haven burst into fall colors on the top of Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden. On Saturday 17, the foliage will reach its peak according to DEEP and we should not miss it! Let’s go to the park and hike our way up to the tower via an easy/moderate difficulty trail. Bring water and hiking shoes!

You can meet us directly at the state park entrance around 11:30 - 11:45 am if you have a car or take the 11:10 am CT Transit bus J4 at the corner of Church and Chapel (diagonally across from Starbucks, and on the City Hall side of the street, $3 round trip). Some YPA members will be at the bus stop around 11am.

Feel free to bring food and snacks to have a picnic when we reach the top before heading down and back to the campus around 4pm with the 3:15 pm CT Transit bus J7 at the corner of Whitney Ave. and Mt. Carmel Ave.

This is a friend and family friendly event, feel free to bring them along and talk about this event! The more the merrier!
