Gemma Vidal-Pedrola

Biography: 

Gemma Vidal-Pedrola is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Yale School of Medicine. As a postdoc Gemma is investigating the mechanisms underlying aging of the immune system and the effects of age on the immune response to influenza and SARS-CoV-2 vaccination.

Gemma received her B.Sc. in Human Biology in Barcelona at Pompeu Fabra University and her M.Sc. in Microbiology and Immunology at Nottingham University, UK. During her Ph.D. at Newcastle University in the UK, Gemma characterized a subset of immune cells in patients suffering from the autoimmune disease Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Gemma loves to hang out with friends, go hiking, go to the theater and the cinema and meet new people. Gemma is enthusiastic about organizing events for other peers to meet and build a network for support.
