Kehinde Mary Taiwo

Role: Mentorship Committee Member, Mentorship Training Coordinator

Biography: Kehinde Mary Taiwo is a Postdoctoral Research Associate working under the supervision of Dr. Candie Paulsen in the department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. Her research work is focused on determining the structural and functional implication of the interaction between the transient receptor potential A1 (TRPA1) and the cellular modulator. Kehinde received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland College Park where she was also a mentor to several undergraduate and graduate students.  As a woman of color, Kehinde emphasizes the role mentorship from supervisors with vast racial and academic backgrounds played in making her the scientist she is today. She therefore would like to keep impacting the lives of others positively by mentoring.
