The National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW) is an initiative sponsored by the National Postdoctoral Association since 2009, to recognize the significant contributions that postdoctoral scholars make to U.S. Institutions and postdoctoral associations from across the country and other parts of the world participate by holding special events. In 2010, the week starting at the third Monday in September was officially recognized as the NPAW by the U.S. House of Representatives. Events are held throughout the week and across the country to create awareness.
